Overview
박예림은 자연 속에서 발견되는 서정적이면서도 역동적인 에너지를 종이에 담아내는 작가다. 작가는 종이 위에 모래를 올려 우연적 형태와 질감을 만들어내고, 그 위에 다양한 기법의 먹으로 자연을 시각화한다. 모래 위에 반복적으로 먹을 칠하는 행위를 통해 박예림은 자연의 풍부하고 다채로운 면면을 발견한다. 1997년생인 박예림은 이화여자대학교 대학원에서 동양화를 전공했으며, 서울과 벨기에 등지에서 전시를 시작하며 여러 컬렉터들의 사랑을 받고 있다.
박예림의 먹으로 그려진 강렬한 필치는 모래가 고정된 표면 위로 전달되며, 작가의 힘과 속도, 섬세하면서도 떨리는 손길까지 느껴지게 한다. 이러한 작품의 특징은 캔버스를 넘어 역동적인 자연의 에너지가 뛰쳐나올 듯한 상상력을 자극한다. 모래 사이로 스며드는 먹은 고요하게 자연을 담아내며, 캔버스의 물리적 특성은 대지의 거친 표면을 떠올리게 한다. 모래가 종이에 반복적으로 붙었다 떨어지면서 만들어지는 질감과 형태는 우연적이면서도 자연의 끊임없이 변화하는 모습과 깊은 연결을 맺는다.
