Park Taehoon: PARKTAERIA
-
Overview
Kimreeaa Gallery presents Park Taehoon’s solo exhibition, “parkaeria”, from June 30 to July 30, 2022.
Within the highly intricate and complex structures of Park Taehoon’s works lies a profound exploration of the question: “How do we understand and perceive the world?” Layers of artificially colored natural forms accumulate densely across the canvas, evoking the artist’s labor-intensive creative process. The world we inhabit is filled with entities that possess different qualities and values, constantly intersecting and colliding. Through his unique visual language, Park unfolds these collisions onto a single surface. The densely layered landscapes exist in a space that is neither representational—merely reproducing tangible objects—nor abstract, stripped down to essential forms; rather, they are Park’s singularly structured worlds.
Starting from a single element and continually adding smaller and larger pieces, the artist constructs parktaeria. As viewers, we are invited to slowly absorb the interplay of countless colors and forms on the plane, imagining both Park Taehoon’s meticulous working process and the distinctive worldview that informs his practice
