Overview
Lee Jieun (b. 1991) creates dreamlike canvases that capture moments of everyday life, memories from her travels, and scenes born from imagination. Through vibrant colors and narrative compositions, she fills her large-scale works with emotion, allowing imagined characters to move and breathe within the canvas. Inspired by the process of clay animation, she arranges real or invented furniture to construct intimate, immersive spaces, shaping each painting as if designing her own world. Her work emphasizes storytelling, akin to a frame from a film or a scene from a comic, blending fantasy and reality to evoke moments of tranquility and wonder. Often accompanied by her beloved dog, Lee Ji-eun translates daily experiences and imagined stories into a vivid, colorful visual language.
